Kreshnik Gashi was dismissed from the post of Kosovo Intelligence Agency chief (AKI), writes Periscopi.
The country's prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, chose the social network Facebook” to make Gashi's dismissal public.
“Today, I requested from Mr. Kreshnik Gashi, the release of the head of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI)” wrote Hoti until he gave no explanation about the decision.
For Gashi's dismissal, neither has the chairman of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency's Supervisor Commission, Fatmir Jeleli.
Xhelili, as she was asked by Periscope about Gashi's dismissal, said she is unaware that such a thing has happened. The deputy said that for the first time he is hearing from Periscope about this dismissal.
Even the AAK has been caught unawares. Daut Haradinaj, chief of the Parliamentary Group of this party, has said there is no information on the case, hinting that Hoti has not consulted with this party.
Kreshnik Gashi profile
On November 25th 2019, Kreshnik Gashi was appointed to the post of director of the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence through then co-operation between incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and former President Hashim Thaci, when Albin Kurti was expected to become prime minister, after his party had made the first appearance in the 6 October elections.
Gashi's appointment to the head of state intelligence had come days after Ramush Haradinaj had accepted Shpend Maximu's resignation from the same position. Haradinaj had confirmed that Maxhu has resigned for health reasons.
Haradinaj was criticised for this decision, which was made shortly after the 6 October elections, and was one of his recent decisions as prime minister./ P ECISCOPY/Z. R/
