The US will withdraw 2,000 and 500 troops from both countries in mid-January, the US Department of Defence has confirmed.
President Donald Trump has long called for troops to return home and has criticised American interventions abroad, the BBC writes, translates Periscopi.
NATO chief warned that this “would cost too much”. Even the leader of the Major Party in the Senate, Republican Mitch McConnell called the plan “error”.
Mr. McConnell who is usually a fanatic defender of the Trump ʹ also warned the president against “whatever change of land-making in terms of foreign and defence policies” before leaving the White House.
Trump has yet to concede defeat to Democrat Joe Biden, and these cuts in the army are expected to take place five days before Biden takes office. /Periscope
