The meeting was held at Prizren's Main Centre of Family Medicine, and participants were 18 and 22 years old, coming from different high schools and universities.
The initiative was highly praised by the new assistants and local institutions, as it was the first example of civil-military co-operation in the area of community commitment to raise awareness of global pandemic, with a particular focus on young people, said a communique for KFOR media.
According to a recent study, 1/3 of the population in Kosovo does not believe the virus is real, while 61% say COVID-19 was the least dangerous “” than described by authorities and the media.
For this reason, thanks to close co-operation with Kosovo health institutions and KFOR's extenuating role, Italian medics and military nurses held a speech for Kosovo's youth to stress the necessity of taking preventive measures at this important moment and to let the country move forward.
masking, keeping social distance and washing hands are the so-called <x0-tech mediums” that experts know as the only means they can enable Kosovo to return to normal.
KFOR facilitated the event, which presented a recorded interview of a 19-year-old who had been infected with COVID-19 and had exceeded the virus after being hospitalised in intensive care.
Those attending also participated in various polls to test young people's emotions and knowledge about COVID-19.
In contrast, according to the World Health Organization, young people represent the most affected population of Sars-Cov-2 in Kosovo, even though only a few have the worst symptoms and forms of COVID-19. However, the unanticipated individuals of this disease are the real problem with the spread of the virus.
