The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, participated in the Vienna Economic Forum, the dialogue for the future 2020) with the motto “The economy meets politics in the digital world.
At this forum, where mainly discussed the need for new mobilization in the digital world, challenges and opportunities for the region's economy, Prime Minister Hoti said that despite the Devov-19 pandemic, Kosovo has continued concrete commitments to realise the European agenda, with particular emphasis on the Joint Regional Market of Western Balkan countries.
In this case, Prime Minister Hoti stressed that he strongly believes that following pledges at the Sofia Summit last week, market integration is the first step towards political reconciliation in the region. Stressing that economic and social sustainability is key to long-term development and EU integration, the entire region.
Kosovo, Prime Minister Hoti said, is committed to promoting stable economic and political relations and expects constructive approaches on all sides, especially from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Multilateral co-operation, such as the Joint Regional Market, promotes and improves security in the region, political sustainability and economic co-operation, he added.
Prime Minister Hoti, at the Vienna Economic Forum, stressed that Kosovo expects the regional integration of the Western Balkans to improve perspective towards EU enlargement rather than replace it. He underlined that, multilateral economic co-operation requires common pledges for the common market, creative ideas and joint economic projects.
Prime Minister Hoti also spoke of concrete multilateral co-operation projects with which four freedoms are promoted: services, capital, ideas, as well as freedom of knowledge and research.
Prime Minister Hoti, commenting on the agenda for the Western Balkans, also stressed that Kosovo is committed to boost absorption capacities, deepen co-operation with these countries, international partners and the European Commission in order to benefit from investment projects.
