More than 130 United States Secret Service officers have resulted in positive coronavirus or have been in close contact with infected colleagues, the Washington Post” reported.
The report, published Friday, was attributed to three people “with knowledge of the agency's staff”.
Secret Service officers, who, among other things, have the duty to protect President Donald Trump when he travels, as well as when he is in the White House, were recently ordered to be self-insulted, the announcement said.
Sources, which the newspaper “The Washington Post” says spoke anonymously to express themselves more freely, said infections are believed to concern campaign gatherings President Trump held ahead of the November 3rd presidential elections. The report also quoted sources as saying that around 10% of the agency's main security team is “mated”.
President Trump, members of his close family and a growing number of White House officials and the electoral team have recently proved positive for the choreography following campaign activities, where many administration officials and other participants had no masks.
The White House and the Secret Service did not immediately comment on the report, but White House spokesman Judd Deere told the newspaper that the administration takes “seribly every case” and referred the paper to the Secret Service for answers to questions about the spread of infections. An agency spokesman declined to comment on the paper.
The wave of spread reported among officers emerged as the coronary crisis in the United States continues to deteriorate. More than 153,000 new infections were reported on Thursday, according to Johns Hopkins University, the first time that the new total one day exceeded 150,000.
Nearly 10.6 million people in the United States have received the coronary as the number of dead in the country approaches 243,500, according to Johns Hopkins University.
