Serbia on alert: 20 buses with Albanians buried in Stavalj allegedly

A statement by Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, threatening Serbs not to show where the mass cemetery of Albanians in Serbia is located, echoed heavily. A local newspaper finds that days ago, local and international institutions have received information on a mass cemetery at the country called Stavalj in Serbia. It is suspected that the bodies of many Albanian civilians killed by Serb forces were buried in the recent war in Kosovo.

The first suspicions are that in Stavalj, exactly at the site called Sjenica, the bodies of hundreds of Albanians -- exactly 20 buses filled with Albanian civilians -- were executed and massacred and then buried in this country.

Kosovo state officials have confirmed this.

In order to verify information pertaining to the existence of a possible cemetery with Albanian victims, a team from the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that deal with the research of the fate of missing persons have visited, several days ago, the location in Staff, along with representatives of the Government Commission of Serbia and the International Committee of the Red Cross. According to assessments on the ground, the location at Staff will be the location of interest to address, with the aim of addressing information and doubts presented on the basis of which there is suspicion that there could be a massive site of Serb war victims. Of course, the location at Staffal and other locations in this region, given the fact that in 2014, Raska's Rundica remains have been exhumed by 54 Albanian victims, carried from cemetery in Kosovo with the aim of concealing crime tracks, will continue to be treated as case or priority locations by the Government Commission of the Republics sw Kosovos and as continued requests to the Serbian side”, Says the Government Commission's response to missing persons.
