Popovic, who is also a member of the Serbian Parliament, told Pink TV that Serbian opposition parties organised yesterday a memorial meeting with the slogan “11,000 days from the undiscovered murder of Oliver Ivanovic” and that it was the shameful “” that Ivanovic's murder be used this way.
She said court procedures for Ivanovic's murder in Kosovo are delayed.
“Someone doesn't want us to get to the truth, as if the goal is to extend it, and we certainly intend to cover the truth,” said Popovic.
With 1,000 days of undiscovered murder, Serbia's United Opposition organised yesterday the lighting of “11,000 candles” at the St. Mark church in Belgrade, with a request that Oliver Ivanovic's authors and murderers be found and punished. Popovic, who joined the Serbian Progressive Party in February this year, did not participate in lighting candles.
Judicial authorities in Kosovo and Serbia have launched a separate investigation into the murder of Ivanovic, who took place in January 2018 in the northern part of Mitrovica, but to date no one has been convicted of murder.
