Koci: Thaci is being violated by human rights, citizens should urgently be informed by the Special

Lawyer Arianin Koci has said Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel are being violated of basic human rights by the Special Court, which is showing nothing about the act proposed to them. There is neither minimal respect shown to Kosovo citizens, to the image of the president of Kosovo, nor to Mr. [...]
There is neither minimal respect shown to Kosovo citizens, to the image of the president of Kosovo, nor to Mr. Hashim Thaci as an individual, with the fact that the Specialised Chambers do not provide information about what is happening with the indictment filed on April 24, 2020”, Koci wrote in a response to the Fb.
Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veselini for six months face a public proposal of an indictment from the Specialised Chambers in The Hague. Yesterday, there was a legal deadline for dropping or confirming the indictment proposal, which was made public until the president was heading toward Washington. At the time, it was said the indictment was made public after Hashim Thaci threatened to disseminate the Special.
However, Arianan Koci says the way the Special is behaving is unfair even in terms of Kosovo citizens.
The six-month extension has expired! An entire people is being held hostage! On the other hand, Mr. Thaci is being brutally violated by human rights”, wrote further Koci.
According to him, it's been ten years since they started investigating once from Senator Dick Marty, and then from the task of Ambassador Clinton Williams.
Kosovo citizens must urgently be informed of what is happening to their president. Otherwise, trust in this court will be lost”, he wrote.
On April 24th this year, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has filed a specialised chamber indictment where Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, and others are charged with a series of war crimes. To confirm the indictment or not, it takes six months from the publishing day. This announcement was published at the time when President Thaci was traveling from Kosovo to the White House, where the Kosovo-Serbia agreement for economic normalisation was expected to be signed.
The Specialised Chambers released the indictment on June 24th. The announcement was necessary because Thaci and Wessel had tried to prevent the work of the specialised rooms.
“Specialised Prosecutor deems it necessary to issue this public announcement on charges due to Hashim T's repeated efforts HACIT and Kadri V ESSELIL to prevent and sabotage the work of the DHSK. It's believed that Mr. T HACI and Mr. V ESEL has secretly undertaken a campaign to abolish the law that established the Court and otherwise prevented the work of the Court in an attempt to evade justice, through these actions, Mr. T HACI and Mr. V ESEL have put their own interests above the victims of their crimes, rule of law and the people of Kosovo”, the report said.
However, Thaci's special announcement says that Wessel and others are accused of unlawful murder, forced extinction of persons, persecution and torture.
The indictment claims that Thaci, Wessel and other suspects are responsible for approximately 100 illegal killings.
“on April 24, 2020, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS) presented Kosovo Specialised Chambers (DHSK) with a ten-point indictment for consideration by the Court, where Hashim T HACI, Kadri V ESEL and others are charged with a variety of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including unlawful murder, forced extinction of persons, persecution, and torture. Hashim T allegedly in Aktakuza HACI, Kadri V ESEL and other suspects have been prosecuted responsible for approximately 100 illegal killings”, the report said.
In announcing an increase in the indictment, it is said that “Actacza is just a criminal indictment, which is the result of a long investigation and proves the SPS's commitment that it could prove all charges outside reasonable suspicion”.
“The crimes presented at Aktakuza reflect hundreds of identified Albanian, Serbian and Roma victims of Kosovo and political opponents. The act is just a criminal indictment, which is the result of a long investigation and proves the SPS's commitment that it can prove all charges against reasonable suspicion. A judge of preliminary procedure of The DHSK is reviewing the Actakuza to decide whether to confirm charges”, the specialised Chambers' announcement stresses.
