Metropolitan police in London report a 22-year-old Swedish woman has been detained as suspected of killing Christmas Eve in London of 36-year-old Albanian Flamur Beqiri.
Banned at Copenhagen Airport, he is taught he was returning from Thailand at the time of his arrest, according to Swedish media.
Scotland Yard's spokesman said the arrested person is in custody in Denmark pending extradition procedures in Britain.
The arrest took place on January 20th following an international warrant issued following the sensational murder.
Flamur Beqiri or Alex, as otherwise known, according to British media in 2008, was named one of the most wanted people in Sweden, since detectives say it was part of an international drug smuggling network that transferred cannabis to a market value of 2 million pounds in Scandinavian, charges that were later dropped.
The father of two children was shot in front of his wife and son in front of his home in Battersea, a wealthy London neighborhood where he had bought a house worth 1.5 million pounds. /tch
