Mr. Netanyahu described his country as a “nuclear power” at a weekly cabinet meeting before he corrected himself with a smile from shame.
It is widely believed that Israel has nuclear weapons, but this country has never confirmed or denied claims about its nuclear arsenal and maintained an ambition policy regarding the case for decades, writes Independent, translates Periscope.
Before reading a speech prepared in Hebrew for an agreement with Greece and Cyprus, Mr. Netanyahu said: “The importance of this project is that we are turning Israel into a nuclear power. ”
He immediately corrected himself by saying “power” and then paused before continuing with his comments.
His pride comes at the time of increasing tensions between the United States, Israeli ally and its deadly rival Iran, after the US president had ordered the killing of one of the Islamic country's top generals, Mr. Kasim Soliman in Iraq.
Mr. Netanyu hailed the murder and praised Trump for ordering the attack, which caused much rage in the Middle East and has increased fear of revenge from Iran. /Periscope
