American expert: For Trump, it is easier to address Kosovo's issue than Iran

The deputy executive chairman of the Washington-based “Atlantic Council” (a Washington-based foreign and public policy group), Damon Wilson, says nothing is easy in Belgrade-Pristina relations, as is not easy for North Korea, Iran, Venezuela.
But according to him, Ambassador Richard Green's arrival to reach an agreement on the reconstruction of Pristina-Belgrade airline, “deserves a hat removed”.
Green's commitment, according to him, even shows active American involvement, is followed.
Look, nothing's easy here. If it were easy, we would have done it a long time ago. This is hard work. Hard for Belgrade, hard for Pristina, the EU and the US. I am really satisfied with the new agreement and the active involvement of America in reaching that” agreement, Serbian media quoted Wilson as saying.
The progress of American engagement in all of this is considered very important because, he says, it is taking place amid all that noise in the world, where Trump administration has much work to do.
It's not easy to get big victories in foreign policy right now. North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, these are really difficult issues. There's no quick success here, and the administration really does a lot of work. It is not easy to register a success in the Western Balkans, but in the Western Balkans we are working with democracies who strategically want to be part of the West, who share a common vision for the future of the region as part of Europe. It seems difficult but relatively easy when compared with Iran, North Korea, Venezuela. So for an administration that wants to get results, the question here is can we. That's where we can get the result. The third reason is pragmatism. Focus on economics and people. It is not an ideology issue why America is involved in Kosovo or Serbia, but rather pragmatism, business option”.
He, during an interview for the Voice of America (Serbian language edition), has also spoken about the tax (of Serbian products), which according to him, remains a major economic obstacle.
“Taxes can be removed and then serious discussion can continue. You know, we have to solve major problems, but also have a serious dialogue on progress, economic growth and development. Currently, taxes are affecting the growth of the black and corrupt market, and this will not help many citizens of Kosovo and Serbia”, Wilson has praised.
Besides, he believes the European Union will be part of what will happen in the Western Balkans.
“The EU is the focus of these developments. They're an American partner. We're basically talking about two nations that want to be part of the EU”.
