Former Serbian diplomat Milan St. Protic, who had served as Serbia's ambassador to Washington, says Vuciq should understand that Kosovo is lost and should no longer address the issue.
Kosovo has been lost, and should not be spent additional energy. This is not acceptable only to sincere politicians. That battle has been lost”, Serbian historian Protic has said.
Speaking of continuing dialogue on normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia and US involvement in the process, Protic says the recent US offensive to resolve the problem between Pristina and Belgrade comes as a result of the presidential elections to be held in America in 2020.
“The US went into offensive as to resolving the Kosovo issue, because it was estimated that a solution could be reached prior to presidential elections”, the former Serbian diplomat has added further, writes deep Pravdacom, the newspaper Express broadcast.
Protic even compares the current US commitment to the first few years, when the Dayton Agreement was reached after Europe's failure to convince Milosevic of co-operation.
According to him currently, Kosovo is not the main global topic, but that in the event of Joseph Biden's coming as a democrat at the helm of the US, he says interest in Kosovo could increase.
