State plant productivity protection capacities powered

During the present day, the closing meeting of the Bignacisation Project “was held in support of the strengthening of plant production and protection systems in Kosovo” financed by the European Union. The project has been implemented in co-operation with the State Service for the Protection of Latvia's Plants. Both authorities succeeded in drafting the laws [...]
“Food and Veterinary Agency and other responsible institutions in the country, we need to step up efforts to raise policy-makers' awareness of the importance of plant health and we, as authorities, will do our job in undertaking measures to protect them to achieve the goals of sustainable development and raise food safety and public health”, said Mr. Valdet Gjinovci, AUV Executive Director.
Mrs. Christine Lifanova, the head of the State Service for the Protection of Latvian Plants, and the head of the member state project in this case said that successful implementation of the project was achieved thanks to a hard work and close co-operation with the host country. We have spared nothing on our part to offer everything from our experts' knowledge to establish a literal system of plant control and protection. I estimate that we have done so, it's a huge volume of documents that have been drafted and amended, there are many local experts who have been trained certified, and also the analytical part of the laboratory we've supported with training for laboratory tests. Now you're on good track to protect and develop healthy plants.
For his part, Kapllan Halimi, UKPZHR secretary said the project has successfully achieved the European-level plant protection standards. “The exchange of experiences of Kosovo and Latvia experts, the possibility that we have had to work closely with a country with plant protection experience, today has raised the phytosanitary control standard in the country”.
This project managed to create a state-owned phytosanitary control system that works successfully and ensures that public interests are protected and helps farmers themselves not to destroy plants and preserve the environment, thus cultivating high-quality plants that develop the country's economy. Through an effective system of controlling harmful plant organisms and plant products, in line with EU plant protection standards and regulations. Strengthening administrative and technical resources in the phytosanitary sector in implementing state and EU legislation in the field of plant health, plant protection products, plant-born food security, seeds, seed material and plant variety rights.
By contrast, the United Nations General Assembly through its resolution has proclaimed 2020 as an international plant health year.
