Petroviq: Serbian list has begun dirty campaigning, threatening liquidating members of my party

“We have warned that this election campaign will be dirty, which is confirmed daily,” said Independent Liberal Party Chairman Slobodan Petrovic at an extraordinary press conference, citing the pressure being exerted on members and activists of this political option.

Petrovic further stated that political opponents have moved from words to actions, stressing that Sasa Djordjevic from Shtrpca, who was a worker at the Health Centre in this country, was given a decision to leave work today.

“We have told you that Nebojsa Milovanovovic, who is director of the Health Centre in Shtrepca, has threatened a home whose husband is a member of our party. Dr. Bratislav Lazic, the hospital director has threatened the worker in question by asking them to withdraw. As it came to the third person, the director of the Health Centre in Shtrpce Sasa Krstevic, who was threatened by giving him a decision on getting out of work (Sasha Djordjevic) only because he thinks otherwise” said Petrovic.

His problem at the conference was presented by Sasa Djordjevic, the dismissed convict, himself, proving he has been employed at the Health Centre in Shrpca for 25 years.

My principal now asked me to distribute the entire board, which, of course, I wouldn't accept, because that's probably what no normal person would accept. I knew I was on the right side. He didn't stop, the threats started. We have evidence of slander and threats and everything they've served. It's not just me, but I'm the first, my colleagues and people with the same conviction are in trouble. I fear for my colleagues and loved ones, these are serious threats. I am the father of two children, I have a son and a daughter, I fear for them, but they are not more Serbs than I am, they have never been”, said Sasa Djordjevic of Shrpca.

Djordjevic added that the director of the Health Centre told him it was not his personal decision, but a decision of higher institutions.

Slobodan Petrovic stressed that Djordjevic and other members and SLS activists have 100 per cent support for this party.

He also sent a message to sympathies of other Serbian political parties, saying he is not like the Serbian List and that they can count on it.

“We are sure that the Serbian List is in a major panic. We know they have no programme, no results and they lack quality on the election list. We are safer than our victory in the upcoming elections is certain. We wonder if people like Krstic are able to heal us? ”, Petrovic added.

He stressed that the threatening material for Sasa Djordjevich is ready for the prosecutor, and that the words “are heard in this audio material among others.

Petrovic recalled that threats were made in previous election campaigns, that Dimitrije Yanijevic, an SLS candidate for mayor of northern Mitrovica, was killed, as well as Oliver Ivanovic, who also did not support the Serbian List policy.

“We are not afraid, we are even braver and stronger, behind us is justice and truth. More than 15,000 people support this party, I am sure this number will be higher in these elections”, Petrovic said.

The SLS chairman voiced fears that threats will also surface in countries and other institutions operating under the Government system of the Republic of Serbia.
