Twelve murders in six months, some because of property causes

The most tragic case that happened was that at “the sector of the” Hospital where, because of the property, there were gunshots and two people were killed, and two others were injured, one very seriously.

As with a knife fight in Lipjan, one person has died and another has been seriously injured. Even here according to the Kosovo Police, the case concerns the property context.

And the next event has occurred in the village of Lismir of Fushe Kosovo, where seven people have been arrested after a disagreement they had between themselves over a property.

These recent killings increase the number of total killings in Kosovo, which according to data seems not a bit of a concern.

This is because, according to the Kosovo Police, in a statement given the Telegraph, only in the first six months of 2019 have 12 murders recorded.

We have consistently taken concrete action for prevention either through different campaigns for awareness of all illegal activities that could directly or indirectly affect the risk of general security or lead to the execution of such acts. And in 2019, the first six months have totaled 12 murders”, police response reported.

And the knowledge of security issues, Avni Islami, thinks that what is happening is also due to responsible institutions.

Islam in a statement granting Telegraph has said that the reason, especially of property conflicts, is forging various property documents.

“The display of this phenomenon, this phenomenon, where in recent weeks we have three fights, where we have wounded and even killed because of the conflicts of property, is a bad indifference. This is because responsible institutions, starting with courts, then different forms of making nonvalide contracts, and failure to function the justice system have highlighted and are risking the life of the party in property disputes. As a phenomenon, I think it's the result of forging various documents from the end of the war to the present. As a result of this, however, those problems now arise, and you reach out to trouble owners. Just as we have last week's case when we have two dead men and two wounded”, Islam thinks.

According to him, there may be other cases in the future because, as he pointed out, the unconscious way in which the authority of some in courts has been misused.

We have examples when the real estate was sold making fake documentation, then the land was bought two to three times by different people, and now they're finding out that we're dealing with the mess that's leading to the murder. So it's as a result of not today's but since the post-war”, it's expressed.

Among other things, he has said courts have the main work in different civil contexts, where documents should be verified because people have bought property twice.

The trial, the prosecution, the justice system must work in this direction in order to verify contracts and not endanger the real estate of people who have those documents, not those who have forged documents. There are many cases that different persons have come from Serbia and made nonvalide documents, and have sold properties. The responsibility falls on the shoulders of the court that must solve these problems”, he said.

We remember that even the Human Rights and Freedoms Council ( KMDLNj, in a response, has said the Kosovo Judiciary Council should be put on the move by increasing efficiency and speeding up the dynamics of judging cases of property disputes in order to avoid potential cases of violence in the future.

These loss of people's lives, as painful as they are, with greater planning, greater commitment and responsibility to respect the law can and must be eliminated”, says KMDLNj's response.
