Bajram Gecaj seeks Lumir Abdixhiku's resignation, launching process for electing new leader in LDK

Former deputy owner of the Local Power Management from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Bajram Gecaj, has demanded the resignation of party chief Lumir Abdixhiku, praising that after the result in the last elections, the time has come for the start of the process of electing a new leader.
Gecaj through a post on the social Facebook network has said the process of changes in the party has had to begin since the LDK Convention on January 31st, reports Periscope.
“Will ENJOY...
... and the beginning of the process of selecting new leadership. In fact, these elections proved that this process has had to begin since the January 31st Convention. However, it is never too late for good and necessary processes. I belong to that eshalon of people who strongly believed in the leadership of Lumir Abdixhik and who we have upheld with full conviction, even when many of the locals told us we were wrong. Today's time has come to thank him for his hard work, dedication and contribution, and in the most civic and dignified way we ask him to make way for our next test, the selection of a new leader”, he wrote.
Gecaj has indicated that he was part of two races to secure a seat in the Kosovo Assembly and had decided not to run any more, though he had the support of the branch.
I've personally tried the parliamentary race twice. The first time I was so close, the second time a little farther away. However, I reflected and decided not to enter the race anymore, although my branch had again offered me the candidacy and my desire to elect an MP was great. I wanted to face hard with all that servile orchestra in the Kosovo Assembly. But the people say that “has nothing wiser than to tell yourself”, he wrote.
Gecaj has called for respect for the current leadership and the selection of a new leadership that, according to him, can bring the LDK back to the head of civic confidence and leadership.
Time and circumstances require us to build a dignified process: to respectfully convey the past leadership and select it with vision, energy and confidence the new leadership. Only then can we bring the LDK back to where it belongs, to the forefront of civic trust and leadership of the state”, Gicaj wrote. /Periscope
