The current security situation in Kosovo is calm and under control, KFOR spokesman Pio Sabetta told the newspaper “Danas” in Belgrade.“KFOR is working in close co-operation with local and international security organisations. If there were threats of any kind to the possibility of breaching the security situation, KFOR is ready to adopt necessary security measures in Kosovo” said Sabetta responding to Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciqi's statement, under which there are possibilities for incidents in Kosovo during the autumn.

Asked whether KFOR has knowledge about the Albanian terrorist organisation B-13, which some media in Serbia claim plans to attack Serbs in northern Mitrovica, Sabetta replied that KFOR is closely following the situation and consistently.

Serbia's president, Vuciq, in a talk about TV Prva, said he did not rule out the possibility of incidents in Kosovo, “but there will be no implementation of the B-13 plan, since Serbia will not allow Pegrom or murder of Serbs”.

According to Vuciqi, the strategic goal of Kosovo Albanians to dominate the space of the northern part of Kosovo. A heavy autumn awaits us as regards the Kosovo issue... There is no known question of who or what might be discussed with Pristina... No one understands that taxes cannot survive”, Vuciq has indicated.

In line with the mandate on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, KFOR “has no role in rule of law or law enforcement in Kosovo and is not involved in the fight against terrorism, as it is out of its mandate, but KFOR is closely following the situation”, Sabeta said, Coha.net broadcasts.

He answered the question of whether KFOR is ready to ensure security for Kosovo residents on Election Day.

Sabetta said KFOR “contributes to maintaining a safe and stable environment and freedom of movement for all Kosovo citizens, impartially, without taking into account their ethnic affiliation and remaining committed to the security and stability of Kosovo”.

“KFOR will continue to act, co-operating closely with local and international security organisations on Election Day”, Sabetta told the Belgrade newspaper “Danas”.
