The minister of health in resignation, Ismaili Bridge, hopes this law will begin to apply in 2020.
While representatives of the Health Union are sceptical that this will happen in the near future.
Years of promise, but not fulfilled. The Health Insurance Law remains the main concern for Kosovo society. The main fault for failing to implement it is the unwillingness of political parties to improve the lives of citizens, Blerim Syla, chairman of the Kosovo Federation of International Health, told Radio Blerim Syla.
This best shows the political vision of all political parties that have been in power, who have not been able to find their way or simply did not want to find their way. So politics is the main burden here. When we add the international factor, often the locals have taken counsel from them, they have almost failed because they have started by their own policies. We have largely failed as a society to build a health system and disaster for this will be paid by the population.
However, incumbent Health Minister Uran Ismaili told Radio Kosovo it is working and that 2020 the country's citizens will find health insurance.
We're in the conclusion of the health insurance system. So, we're at the end of the contract. Services are being created that will be provided by recording them in electronic form.
The work we have done during these two years will be crowned with health insurance in 2020.
Dr. Syla said the final draft of the health insurance fund has had to be submitted on 15 August 2019, but now the political situation has changed everything. According to him, within the year millions of euros go abroad for health services from persons seeking recovery abroad.
