Special Prosecutor Syla Hoxha, through a statement issued for RTK, said he has sought to increase the number of police officers in the northern part of the country.
The Special Prosecutor, simultaneously the prosecutor of the police action against smuggling and organised crime case in the north, Syla Hoxha, has said police have not yet managed to arrest all persons on the list. He added that the published names are on the list of investigations and that according to him this list is expanding because many other people are involved as police officials, customs officers and other offenders.
I have names here that you as Radio Television published. Some of them are already in place for the beginning of the investigation and we're acting. You know that even during the May 28th action we didn't even smugglers, but even members of the Kosovo Police failed to arrest them all. We're ignoring the procedures, according to the code of procedure and come up until we arrest even those people we've had on our list”.
Special Prosecutor Hoxha once again requested institucan and state public support for this link to crime and smuggling in the northern part of Kosovo to radically secede.
”Opinion knows what happened and what is happening in the northern part of Kosovo. We as the prosecutor in co-operation with the Police Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police are at work and will not stop in the fight against organised crime and smuggling various goods which through illegal routes are entering Kosovo. We as prosecutors need institutional support, not political interference, but support. The state must provide the conditions for us to have our hands free and act”
Hoxha highlights that the number of police officers in the country's north should increase, since those parts are undiscovered by police, according to him.
