Kosovo's Special Prosecutor is still continuing investigations into 32 women returned from Syria to Kosovo in April this year.
All 32 repatriated women are being investigated under suspicion of organisation and participation in terrorist groups.
The Special Prosecutor has confirmed to Radio Free Europe the fact that he has not yet filed any charges for repatriated women.
The case of Syria-redirected women is still in the phase of investigations by Kosovo Republic Special Prosecutors. They are being investigated for criminal acts “organising and participation in terrorist groups”, from Article 143 paragraph 2 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code, respectively, from Article 3 paragraph 3, “reunification or participation in the army or foreign police, to outside paramilitary formations or before police, to group organisation or individually” outside the territory of the Republic of Kosovo<5>, the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's response is said.
Now, it has been three months since 32 women returned from Syria are staying under house arrest.
In 2015, Kosovo's institutions adopted a special law, with which participation in foreign wars is sanctioned, where punishments are also envisioned for those participating in these wars.
