Requests for asylum in Switzerland Increase

The number of asylum applications in Switzerland during May has increased by 9.7 percent compared to the previous month. As the Federal Bureau for Migration (SEM) reveals, asylum in Switzerland during May has asked 1226 people or 108 more than April. But that number was being compared to that [...]
But compared with that of May 2018, we have a minor decline - 42 fewer asylum requests or a 3.3% drop in demand.
The list of countries from which there has been more asylum requests looks like the following: Eritrea, as in recent months and years, is in first place, with 289 asylum requests or 44 more than April; Asylum seekers from Afghanistan with 105 requests remain on the same scale as the one marked a month ago; Syrians have made 95 asylum applications -- the number being for 35 higher than in April.
82 asylum requests have been made by Turkish citizens, or 29 more than a month ago. A total of 74 requests, or 37 more, have been registered by Sri Lanka than in April.
SEM also suggests that during May, it has resolved to the first degree 1834 asylum requests, broadcast albinfo.ch. In this context, 339 decisions have been made for homelessness (265 of them on the basis of the Dublin Agreement. 574 people during this period have won asylum, and 430 others have gained temporary status in Switzerland (Viza F).
The number of cases still in first degree procedure has been reduced in May for 486 examples, dropping to 10551 such cases.
