Against that requirement came Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Luka, who had said this airport is planning to re-unit.
However, Haradinaj had viewed this space as good news that it would be passed under the management of the Ministry of Defence because the degradation of this space would stop.
Lieutenant General Gjundman Rama has indicated that they are still in the initial phase working with the Ministry of Economic Development on administrative issues.
“We are in the initial stages of how we got it from the Government, we are now in working groups with the Ministry of Economic Development on several administrative issues because there are several workers there and there is a body of”, Rama has said about the news.
Furthermore, asked whether this airport is scheduled to be the Kosovo Army airport in the future, Rama has confirmed that the plans are such.
We have created working boards and then we certainly have plans in the future, but not now at this time”, Rama said.
Gjakova Airport has been the basis where Italian KFOR has stood, while after their departure it has begun destroying this space.
Taking in this space from the Ministry of Defence is being planned to eventually become the military airport of the Kosovo Armed Forces.
