He has said Tuesday's action is intended to catch a network involved in smuggling, bribery, misuse of official position and other organised crime activities.
Kosovo's “Police are conducting an operation in northern Kosovo to arrest Kosovo citizens, including police who are part of a network that has been deeply involved in smuggling, bribery, misuse of official position and other organised crime activities. This operation has been prepared for several months and is part of the greatest efforts Kosovo is undertaking to strengthen rule and rule of law throughout the country. We have seen similar operations in recent days in other parts of Kosovo. Kosovo wants to show its will to fight organised crime, corruption and misuse of the official position, and we call on all to support such actions”, it wrote on Facebook.
Pacolli has condemned Serbia's calls for the Army to be ready after this Kosovo Police Operation in the north.
I urge Serbia not to abuse politically with a simple police operation. I urge them to support the fight against organised crime and not oppose it. What matters is the well-being of all communities living in Kosovo, and the Kosovo government guarantees that this is of high interest. I condemn the Serbian government's calls that have even called the military to be ready because of a simple police operation against organised crime networks”, he added.
