At Morina's Border Inspection Point, 762kg of expired cooking (Mayonnaise, ketchup and gel caramel) has been blocked.
1. Products did not match the documentation that accompanied this burden, namely the report-analysis did not belong to these products.
2. The origin was written in the re-export quality certificate Kosovo.
3. The cargo products (monesis, ketchup, gel caramel) did not have Lott's number on label and production and expiration date
4. The cooking fat product on the label was marked “preferred to use before the 30.03.2016” while in the ambalage (the plastic box impact) was marked by 11,06,2019.
According to legislation in effect, AUK did not allow the introduction of these products on the territory of the Republic of Albania.
“Load of expired food products returned to where it was started. With changes to the Penal Code that will soon be adopted punitive measures against anyone abusing food safety will be extremely severe and predict jail sentences. We will not allow anyone to abuse the health of Albanian consumers.
If today we had all the changes in the Penal Code and there was no legal vacuum, a case like this one we hit at Morina's border point would go for prosecution and the subject would be sentenced to jail.
Food is the priority of our work and in no case will there be toleration to abusers. We invite consumers to be cooperative with AKU by denouncing cases of abuse. Food security is a matter of all and requires common commitment”, AK reports.
