Most schools are obeying the call of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK) for non-replacement of hours, writes “Koha Ditore<2> today.
Even though Minister Bytyqi and the chairman of the College of Municipal Education Directors, Besim Avdimitaj, vowed last Monday that all lost hours will be replaced, SBASK directors have announced that over 95 percent of schools on Saturday have refused to comply.
The head of the Education Union weeks ago has made the decision that if the Law on Pay is changed and primary teachers, psychologists, professors, and school secretaries are established at the end of the year, only a week will be replaced. The union has made the decision not to replace all lost days with the argument that the Law for Strikes does not impose the replacement of hours.
