This organisation is made by the Pristina Community together with the Kosovo National Centre for Blood Transfusion.
Annie, why was it the first time, the organisers told them that participation was satisfactory, and in the ongoing hours according to them, a greater number of blood donors are expected.
Fitim Rexha, director of sports in Pristina municipality, was one of the blood donors. He said this organism is becoming for the first time, but according to him, he expects this tradition to continue in the future.
“Today it is April 6th that coincides with this event. So donating blood is about sports, about peace, about everything. We're looking at the market that athletes are big people, not only themselves, but others. With this blood donation, we are also honoring all athletes from Fadil Vokri and all those who have contributed to the Kosovo sport. I'm very pleased with the turnout, there are groups that are being reported coming and there are groups that have already arrived. Also, I am pleased with the participation in blood donation, which I thank both sports donors and citizens of goodwill”, Rexja said.
One of the blood donors among many Kosovo athletes was Drita Rudi, who said this action was 27th she donates blood.
According to her, all citizens and athletes should be conscious and participate in these shares, as the number of people who need blood is always going up.
For the sake of truth I'm a regular blood donor. It's the 27th time I donate blood and it's a pleasure to help those who need blood. Of course, I've been in sports, handball, shooting, karate, but these young people are in good health. I hope it's still early and that turnout will be much greater”, Rudi said.
Meanwhile, director of marketing and information from the National Blood Transfusion Centre Fadil Mahmut said the action is being conducted in the best possible way, thanks to real co-operation with the Pristina municipality.
“Sic you are seeing, a team of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, is now among Kosovo athletes, where we have organised an action in co-operation with the directorate for Youth and Sports near the Pristina municipality, since today is the International Day of Sportsmen and for the sake of that they are being organised and these are giving blood extremely well. Since this is the first action organized in this form, I hope it will be traditional in this form and in the future we will have shares in the years to come, Mahmut said.
We remember that April 6th, the International Sports Day for Development and Peace, is aimed at promoting the healthy life - style and encouraging the International Olympic Movement to focus on allowing access to sports for as many people as possible.
