President Hashim Thaci has appeared today in front of the Parliamentary Investigative Commission on lighting the case of the expulsion of six Turkish citizens on March 29th of last year. Most launched reporting, Thaci has sought to know who the international foreign expert committed to this commission is, as national interest issues cannot be addressed by an international expert who does not recognise anyone.
Initially, Thaci wanted to know who's present at the meeting and who they represent before reporting.
After that request, Jelal Svecla, chairman of this commission, has introduced all members of the commission, while asking for the secretariat for other persons.
Thaci said who the expert is. I would search for the protocol of that meeting where he was selected as expert”, he said.
Svechla, however, said that as regards legitimacy, they can inform him in writing but not today when he will report.
Indexline has learned that the international expert engaged by the Parliamentary Investigative Commission is the American citizen, Tiemen Ma.
He is a US human rights expert and a proposal for his commitment to the commission had made him a member of this commission, Sami Kurteshi of the VV, as the latter has collaborated with him as an ombudsman.
Teemni Ma, has been present in the report of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in front of the investigative commission in this case, while today it was taught that his salary is about 800 euros.
The debate on the international expert continued throughout the time Thaci faced MPs.
“Who's the expert and I'd like to see a CV of his before reporting that the issue is related to national issues. Before an expert I don't know for the sake of transparency what's wrong with knowing who the expert is”, he said.
While LDK deputy Driton Selmanaj, a member of the commission, said they have legal grounds.
We've been given the right to expert on our work, we voted for an expert. We've estimated that we haven't passed the verification test then we have without reason that even the expert is there. Several commission deputies tried to undermine this job. Our legal base is complete and it's one of the most professional reports I've read”, he said.
