This letter from the United States has come because today in the Kosovo Assembly the extraordinary session of the situation in education, which was created after the teacher strike.
The honorable “Deputations you today are better to discuss the lack of IT cabinets, chemistry, physics and other language, the lack of physical education halls, the plight of the sanitation, that is, the lack of basic working conditions in most Kosovo schools than to take on a non-legal decision by Minister Bytyqi”, is said in the SBASK letter; MPs sent.
The United States of Kosovo's Law on Strikes recognises the strike as democratic action and does not force strikers to compensate for the hours or days lost in strike.
“Minister Bytyqi issued an unbased decision in the law, and along with a part of the Directors of Education and Some Schools began an unprecedented pressure on teachers for compensation of lost hours on strike. The SBASK, justly considering this non-legal ruling, filed suit at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, demanding that the justice institution assess the legality of this decision and the SBASK has publicly been declared to respect the court's verdict. We think that any discussion with parliament in behalf of the non-legal decision by Minister Bytyqi would be intervention and pressure at the institution of justice”, noted at the USSAKU meeting.
Education Minister Shyqri Bytyqi has made the decision that the hours lost during the teachers' strike will be compensated, meanwhile, the SBASKU is not accepting that. This has caused a clash between MASTTU and SBASAKA, where the latter have filed charges at the Court.
