Zakharova's comments were broadcast on a series of tweets on the official account of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Offering no concrete evidence of the claims, Zakharova said Pristina's “security forces are being deployed in areas close to areas where Serbs live”.
“The crisis in northern Kosovo is the result of many years of Pristina's spoiled by its foreign supporters: The United States and the European Union”, Zakharova said.
“Washington and Brussels are obliged to curb Pristina's radicals, who have taken sides from the West and are deliberately undermining peace and security in Kosovo and are a source of conflict in the Balkan region”, Zakharova also said.
Russia opposes Kosovo's independence, declared in February 2008.
Kosovo and Serbia, meanwhile, are under international pressure to reach agreements on normalising relations.
