A group representing French Muslims has indicted Facebook and YouTube for allowing transmission of images from the Christchurch attacks on their platforms.
The March 15th attacks on two mosques in New Zealand, where 50 people were killed, were broadcast live on Facebook and video was copied and distributed to all other social networks.
In the indictment of the French Trust Council of Muslims, Facebook and YouTube reportedly allowed the broadcast of violent images by giving support to terrorism or acts that tend to violate human dignity.
The indictment has been welcomed by the New Zealand Islamic Association.
They said the author of the attack wanted an audience, and Facebook allowed him to advertise himself and his crime.
