Today, together with Prime Minister Kadri Veselini and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, we held a meeting with Undersecretary of Political Affairs at the State Department, David Hale.
The topic of discussion was political currentity in Kosovo, the country's Euro-Atlantic future and bilateral co-operation with the US. We also talked about current developments in the Western Balkans, with particular emphasis on continuing dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia at this new moment, as opportunities for a final and comprehensive agreement that will close all open issues between our countries. So for a legally binding agreement that will bring mutual recognition and sit in the United Nations and enable us to move from the state of permanent hostility to a state of peace, normality, and cooperation between our countries.
Refusing to comply with Belgrade's provisions, Kosovo reiterated its pledge that it is ready for dialogue as comprehensive and transparent as possible. Kosovo's Assembly has also approved the platform for Dialogue.
We once again expressed our thanks for President Trump's letters and support for an agreement that balances both countries' interests as independent and sovereign. But we also expressed our position that the Status Quo and the state of the frozen conflict is unacceptable. HTH
