So said US Undersecretary for Political Affairs David Hale in Pristina on Saturday after meeting with Kosovo institutions leaders.
Responding to journalists' questions, Undersecretary Hale has reiterated the American stance about dialogue, stressing that Washington considers now an appropriate moment to reach a comprehensive agreement with Serbia, stressing that mutual recognition should be on the verge of that agreement.
However, Undersecretary Hale has reiterated that the US does not have a position on what the outcome of the dialogue should be, and that the contents of the agreement will depend on both sides.
But, he has stressed that there is widespread reconciliation among Western allies that any agreement should contribute to regional stability, not the opposite.
Undersecretary Hale, who has met with President Hashim Thaci on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli, before his visit to Pristina, has stayed in Belgrade, where he has sent the same message for overcoming obstacles to pave the way for dialogue.
Responding to the Time Ditore question to comment on the platform for dialogue, which the Kosovo Parliament approved Friday, Undersecretary Hale said he sees this as part of the democratic debate in Kosovo, but added that the US does not have a position about the platform.
In any case, as Undersecretary Hale, the US does not change its position when it comes to Kosovo's citizenship it is in full support of independence and sovereignty.
