O'Rourke managed to pass Senator Bernie Saunders, who in the first 24 hours of his campaign last month, raised $5.9m.
Like any other Democrat, he refused to accept money from lobo groups or corporations of particular interest.
The 46-year-old is one of 15 Democrats who will compete for the party's nomination as candidate for the White House head.
According to his campaign, he received donations from every state and territory, amounting to $6,136,763. The campaign did not reveal how much money they contributed.
“In just 24 hours, Americans across the country gathered to testify that it is possible to carry out a real popular campaign for President”, OCE Rourke said through a statement.
This is not the first time his campaign has broken records in fundraising, the BBC broadcasts the Klan Kosova.
In November, when Beto O'Rourke has been competing against Republican Ted Cruz for senator, he has broken record collection of Senate funds, raising more than $80m.
O'Rourke has lost the race against Cruzi, but he is said to have won media and voters' attention as a new face in the Democratic Party, while compared to former US President Barack Obama.
