Thaci in an AP interview says he has strong support from the US and the European Union, as well as Russia's promise to accept the Belgrade-Pristina agreement.
According to him, there are many challenges that must be resolved through dialogue with Serbia, with EU mediation.
The AP writes that the talks have been halted and that Pristina has imposed a 100 per cent tax on Serbian goods, and that Belgrade has warned there will be no continuing dialogue until the move is lifted.
Both Washington and Brussels require abolishing the tax. There is an impression that Kosovo's stubbornness has angered Washington, though Thaci says US relations with Kosovo and its citizens have not cooled.
