306 telephone use fines while driving in Gjakova

The Regional Road Communications Unit in Gjakova has intensified police activities on the ground for increased road traffic security and preventing serious accidents.

Police have applied the operating plan “to use telephone” in the period from June 10th to June 14, 2026, which has been focused on identifying the drivers using the phone while driving.


During the implementation of the plan, police have taken preventative and legal measures against anti-victors. As a result, 306 traffic fines have been pronounced, while 44 driver's license has been taken as a safeguard clause, in line with legislation in force.

The Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova announced it will continue with similar preventative and operational activities aimed at raising the level of road safety and preventing accidents, especially those with fatal consequences.

Kosovo police have called on all participants in communications to respect traffic regulations, avoid telephone use during driving, and contribute to creating a safer environment for all road users./ Periscope.
