The open competition by the Ministry of Defence for 650 Kosovo soldiers has been closed, and over 5,000 people applied to these countries.
But were there interested in being part of the Kosovo Army even from the Serb community?
Serbia's policy pressure on Kosovo Serbs who want to integrate within the functioning of the state of Kosovo is not working.
Deputy Defence Minister Agim Ceku has confirmed that to become part of the military, they have applied from all communities in Kosovo, and there are Serbs as well.
“Yes, they have applied from all communities, of course it means Serbs”, Ceku said in a brief response to the news.net.
Last year, 137 Serbs who were members of the KSF about 50 of them sought to leave military service in this force following pressure from Belgrade.
The defence minister, Rrustem Mustafa, who said KSF members were also allowed to decide freely for their future.
Even Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has declared that Belgrade's pressure and threats are making Kosovo Serb soldiers fleeing the KSF.
As if that wasn't enough. Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has repeatedly called on Kosovo Serbs not to integrate within the state of Kosovo.
Last night, Vuciq even called on Kosovo Serbs not to join the Kosovo Army, referring to the latest competition declared by the Ministry of Defence.
He said that if Serbs are not united and become part of Kosovo, they will be weaker and cannot survive.
But, apparently Serbia is not getting propaganda, as Kosovo Serbs have expressed their will to be part of the Kosovo Army.
Meanwhile, it has become known that tests by new recruits will take place in Ferizaj.
