Social Democrat Party MP Shqipe Pantina, in an interview for Periscope has spoken of the agreement that has been reached today between the Government of Kosovo and the SBASKA -- to disrupt the strike in the education sector.
She has said that the SBASK's agreement on the ruling coalition has been during election campaigns, and that the same is unrealistic and immoral.
“We have the condition that this Law be voted in, if they want to vote on the budget bill because public sector workers' salaries are used before campaigning to buy votes. That was the case with the SBASK, since the pre-election agreement had been unprogressive since the SBASK on behalf of all teachers made a deal with a coalition, while teachers have different political preferences. There has been an effort for the bill to be withdrawn and then misused for the” campaign, Pantina said.
On the other hand, she has said that SBASKU has managed this situation with the strike more for political points than for the benefit of teachers.
“I want to congratulate the education workers on salary raising, as they have to be rewarded for their work, but the way the headship of the SBASK has managed this asituat has not resulted in benefits for educators, but they have used it for political points after signing agreements prior to the elections, which has been unprogressive and have not had agreements with any other party that could win the elections. I ask that teachers fall prey to such agreements and continue to fight for their rights and make deals with institutions, not competing subjects. We have said that the pillars that need to be strengthened are those that provide direct services to citizens, such as education and health”, Pantina said further.. / P ERISCOPIA
