Despite the fact that the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo has voted the new Status on Trepca, European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic has said the Trepca issue should be resolved through the comprehensive agreement on normalising dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade in Brussels.
Kocijancic in a response to “Tanjug” has said that all outstanding issues between the two states should be resolved only through dialogue.
The European Union as a mediator of dialogue aims at resolving all open issues between the two states, to resolve through a comprehensive agreement on normalising reports between Belgrade and Pristina”, Kocijancic said, asking about the consequences of the Statut's adoption of Trepca that were voted in the dialogue parliament a few days ago, and the fate of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
She, too, has said that the European Union expects Kosovo to suspend the tax decision, which would enable a quick return to the Brussels dialogue.
Meanwhile, Serbian heads of state have repeatedly suggested that they will not return to dialogue until Pristina breaks the tax decision.
Also, days ago protests in the north were organised against Pristina's decisions on Trepca, saying Kosovo authorities are trying to rob Trepca and leave Serbs living in northern Mitrovica without jobs.
As “Novosti” writes, Pristina had refused to put the Trepca issue into question in Brussels' dialogue, since it considered it the property of the Republic of Kosovo, and for Kosovo that was done.
