Many Albanians from Kosovo were forced to abandon their graves to escape the massacres of the 99 war.
Children, women, and elders 20 years ago crossed the border without knowing where to take refuge.
And for them, Albanians from Macedonia opened the doors.
Abil Idrizi from Forina recalls the days of 99 when a Kosovo family was taken to his home while still guarding photos of the time.
The Brahimi family, the Muj Brahimi family from Ferizaj, where the family head and his wife were, and the three young children, Bekim and daughter, remained until the return of refugees, meaning in mid-June”, Abil Idrizi said.
The refugee camp located in the village of Cegran and Gostivar's Forin was also opened, while more than 57 thousand Kosovo Albanians were sheltered.
Not all returned to their homes after the war.
23 Kosovars of the diseases they had taken on the way could not return to their homes and live in the village of Cegran, where they were buried. Seven others moved to the village of Forin.
Local Community Chairman in Cegrain Sabri Bafqari says that a six-month-old girl was among them, reports TV21.
“Muhamed Ramadani, who was from Presevo Valley at the time was here at the settlement in the Cegrin camp with the family, which unfortunately gets sick and has a high fever. The small moment I can say was one of many cases that are sick of high temperatures handed over to Tetovo Hospital, where unfortunately he passed”, said Local Community Chairman Sabri Bafqari.
In honour of those who cannot return alive to their country, the Local Community in Cegran, in July of this year, will organise a manifestation and visit to Kosovo Albanians' tombs that died in Cegran and Forine.
This manifesto that we've taken on to organise will be at the end of May or early July, for which way we will inform the opinion. And it's a manifestation where we've seen to arrange for a visit to the cemetery of the Kosovo brothers who passed away at the Chamber Camp”, Fadil Jeleli said.
In the Kosovo war, 800 thousand Albanians from their territories were expelled, 150,000 people were killed.
