Thanks to Prince Albert for his hospitality, President Thaci at the opening of this forum has talked about the successes marked by Kosovo's talented girls and boys in various sports, raising our flag in every corner of the world.
The country's first one has mentioned Majlinda Kelmendi, who brought Kosovo the Olympic gold medal from our country's first participation in the Olympics in Rio.
Also, Thaci has indicated about the many victories and the wonderful game Kosovo's National football player has developed during the qualifications for the 2020 European Championship.
Kosovo has had a hard journey. Our young people have had to fight in the mud instead of green fields, remove the mud in the river instead of the shower, and hide from the Serbian police. Thanks to the support of our friends and allies today, we compete in the international arena. Kosovo today stands behind values that promote sport, fair game, equality, friendship and peace. Today, we are committed to peace in order never to have war again, but to compete with each other in peace”, Thaci said.
The head of state has added that sports has the power to unite people when politics has not been able to achieve that and has wished that these messages were forwarded to future generations to live with democratic values, peace and tolerance.
