War crimes indictee Nenad Arsic has been brought before the Constitutional Court in Pristina, where he is declared innocent.
That confirmed for Radio Contact Plus, attorney Dejan Vasic.
Assreq is accused of torturing two Albanian civilians with other Serb police members in 1999 in Pristina's Emshire neighbourhood, after allegedly beating them up, forcing them to drink alcohol and sing patriotic Serbian songs.
Assic's lawyer, Dejan Vasic, says the allegations in the indictment are based on the testimony of two victims who were suddenly seen in his yard at the time, broadcast Klan Kosova.
The court allowed the defence a 30-day deadline to present objections to the indictment, as well as objections to the evidence, Vasic added.
“I will exercise my right and only after the court resolves this complaint will be able to proceed with this case if it continues. ”
Nenad Arsreq from Caglavica has been arrested in Merdare on 22 October and is currently in custody in Podujevo.
