Two Kosovo brothers, who left the 1998-99 war in Kosovo, have become a success story in the United States. They say they're already living the American dream.
One describes the horrors of war in Kosovo and the serious situation before leaving for the United States. “Houses were bombarded in front of our eyes, there were killings, mass killings and massacre”, he said.
Etrit Demaj, a survivor of the war, shows how he and his family were forced to sleep in the car three days until they crossed the Kosovo-Macedonia border. He also relates how their mother put money in their pockets if they were to be separated by their parents.
Fortunately, they were not forced to separate from each other, and from Macedonia they arrived in Detroit of the United States.
In the United States, they first opened up a family business, a restaurant. Later, they began dealing with the real estate and rent sector. One of the brothers studied banks, the other for management.
In 2013, they founded the company “Rocket Fiber”. Our “Company offers the fastest and most reliable internet in Detroit, and we are already linked to three other cities for the fastest Internet”, Demaj says.
