Vocal-instrumental works “Requiem” from W.A. Mozart from the Kosovo Philharmonic Cori and the Symphonical Orchestra in the direction of conductor Rafet Rudi. This concert coincided with the 70th birthday of the Rudi conductor.
The concert was a tribute to women and girls who changed their lives as a result of the crime of sexual violence during the conflict, and calls for support for survivors of silent sexual violence.
French soprano Amelie de Broissia, Kosovo mezzo-soprao Dillza Sylejmani, tenor Liridon Sadriu and Danish Bass-baritone Lars Fossser were introduced.
The United Nations Development Co-ordinator for Kosovo, Ulrika Richardson, said that vocal-instrumental work “Requiemi” is warm tone music, which simultaneously expresses pain for the past by honoring the dead, and expressing hope for the future.
While, Dardan Selimaj, Kosovo Philharmonic Manager, said that on the eve of marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment, in addition to artistic activity, the philharmonic for the mission also has involvement in awareness campaigns like this for the elimination of violence on gender grounds.
Otherwise, the concert was supported by the Ministry of Culture, the French Embassy in Kosovo and Kohavision, empowered with UN Women's support.
