British Embassy reacts to Vuciqi statements denying Recak massacre

The Great Britain Embassy in Kosovo has reacted to statements by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, who, speaking of former Prime Minister Ivan Todosijevic's sentence, called the Recak massacre fiction and insulted by Walker. The embassy's response reportedly supports statements by the European Union, The United Nations and others, in response to recent comments that denied good events recorded in Recak in January 1999.
“Representatives from all sides have the responsibility to refrain from harmful and provocative rhetoric, which is disrespectful to victims and their families, and undermines opportunities for reconciliation and return to dialogue”, it says in response.
In turn, this embassy has said they expect from judicial institutions in Pristina to follow the appropriate process in handling all cases transparently, without ethnic prejudice.
Earlier on this subject, the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo has reacted, saying that in post-conflict societies it is essential to reconcile with the past.
