Social Democrat Initiative Secretary-General Bilall Sheriff has praised the Election Panel's decision on Ances and Paraseta (PZAP) to cancel the vote coming from Serbia.
He has said such an act has restored the integrity and credibility of the 6 October elections, which the CEC had damaged.
In this interview given the newspaper “The new era”, the Sheriff has said that PZAP has corrected the injustice intended to become 42 thousand voters of the Republic of Kosovo.
“Location PZAP has restored legitimacy in the country because the CEC, with a number of its illegal decisions, has jeopardised the integrity and credibility of the 6 October elections. With this PZAP decision, we can say that, in a large way, injustice has been corrected that was intended to become 42,000 voters of the Republic of Kosovo, including in the total of 3104 illegally-income votes from Serbia”, the Sheriff has said.
For the deviation and procrastination of this process, he has accused the CEC.
I agree that there is procrastination of this process, but the blame for that is the CEC and no one else”, the Sheriff has indicated.
The initiative's secretary-general has also responded to critics of the election process.
He has said that the speed of closing this process should not have priority in relation to the accuracy of reading the vote, which the sovereign gave on 6 October.
For parties that have participated in elections and civil society, the priority should have the quality of elections, the quality of results, and not the speed to the detriment of any political party because, ultimately, political parties do not exist for themselves, but for citizens. Therefore, critics of their criticism must address the chief criminal rather than the PZAP Initiative. We feel good, that everything we've ascertained, now has come true”, the Sheriff said.
He has voiced conviction that recounting of 1472 boxes will increase the number of votes for the Initiative coalition. - AKR-PD.
