The US diplomat in London, Woody Johnson, has commented on the expectation that Kosovars became English during the weekend in Pristina for the Kosovo-English match that took place under the qualifications for Euro 2020.
“I stuck with some extraordinary moments of the Kosovo-English match this weekend. The gratitude of the people of Kosovo for their country's release from NATO forces remained great, even after 20 years. A powerful statement in the best we can do when we act together” wrote Johnson in Titter.
Kosovo through a campaign welcomed English national fans and players.
At the “Stadium, Fadil Vokri” was repeatedly applauded by players, to whom racist calls were being made in Bulgaria and Montenegro.
England's coach, Gareth Southgate, said he was impressed by Kosovars' expectations and that he has never experienced such an expectation.
Even the footballers of England have thanked Kosovo for the way he hosted them.
