The first collapsed today in the former Cheenta area. They are already uninhabitable due to the destruction of the 26 November earthquake strikes.
Voda: Durres has been the most affected part. The number of homes completely destroyed for which destruction has begun. Today we've demolished a high-risk apartment in the former nation area and tomorrow we've got 11 others with which the local and national border inspectorship will continue. So 12 totally destroyed dwellings are in the Durres district, and in Tirana district we have 15 totally destroyed dwellings, 239 homes damaged, eight completely destroyed buildings and 61 heavily damaged buildings.
So far, 15m euros have been collected, and funding management will be conducted by the National Reconstruction Committee.
Deputy Interior Minister Rowena Voda, in a telephone link from Durres for RTV Ora, said the goal is to rebuild citizens' dwellings.
Voda: On the e-Albana page are all bank accounts to dedicate aid. The main goal is to rebuild residences. The prime minister today also called for the involvement of opposition members.
But will there be people who will be held responsible for building off standards?
Voda: State police will do their job. Of course we'll deal with the responsibilities of this.
