Pressed Brex, Britain did not “ika” on Thursday

European Union leaders agreed to postpone Brexet by 31 January 2020, which means Britain will not exit the bloc Thursday, as planned. European Council President Donald Tusk said it was a postponement, which means Great Britain can come out [...]
European Council President Donald Tusk said it was a postponement, which means Great Britain can come out of the EU even before the deadline is due if the agreement is to be approved in parliament.
The “was a brief and efficient meeting and I am happy with the decision made”, said Michel Barnier, EU negotiator for Brex.
All of this comes at a time when MPs prepare to vote on Boris Johnson's proposal for early elections on December 12th.
A source from Downing Street, meanwhile, said the government would present a proposal almost identical to that of liberal Democrats and SNP on Tuesday if the labists voted their plan later and there would be elections before Christmas, in any case.
Great Britain would exit the bloc Thursday, but Johnson was forced to seek a postponement after parliament did not support his Brex agreement.
Johnson has consistently said that Great Britain would exit the EU on October 31st, with or without agreement, but the law requires it to accept the EU's bid for postponement. Johnson is now trying to convince MPs to agree on a new agenda for his Brex agreement and elections on December 12th.
