In the course of controversy over Gent Cakaj's failure to die in the position of Albanian foreign minister, Veton Surroi has also been locked up.
Surroi, whose name was once coveted for this position, writes on Facebook that this debate about Albania's foreign minister is taking place in the spirit of football fanry.
Here's his full comment in FB:
The debate over Albania's foreign minister is taking over the fanfare, and there is no debate in fans. There's a voice rise and “listen to me that it's not good for you” or pro- and against district background or age.
If the language of the football stadium is taken away, there remains a fundamental question: should a new minister be decided because foreign policy needs to change in order to conform more closely to the prime minister's vision?
If this is the case, then the prime minister should give in broad consultation with his political group and with the President explaining what should change in Albania's foreign policy. Here the prime minister can help clarify whether or not Albania should support the partition of Kosovo on ethnic lines proposed by President Vuciq and accepted by President Thaci?
This is a question that does not belong only to the prime minister, nor only to his political group, but needs a broader concession, including the opinion of the opposition, whose voice has the constitutional obligation to listen to the president of the country.
