The verdict against Enver Sekerrakes for inciting the murder of police officer Triumf Riza was again closed to the public. Two witnesses in this trial were expected to be heard whose name did not become known to those present in the hall.
The reasons for closing the hearing under Judge Shashivar Hoti were that the trial was closed even the first time these two witnesses had witnessed.
The trial is closed to the public because even in the judicial examination where these two witnesses were questioned has been closed”, Judge Shashivar Hoti said.
Special Prosecutor Hakki Gecaj agreed to the session.
“I agree that the session will be closed because even in the previous trial it is respected this” request, Gecaj said.
Even though the hearing was closed to all present, the court made an exception.
The court allows the presence of EULEX monitors, in session with the mission's reasoning that they have, while BIRN monitors removed them from the hall.
This is not the first time that this court in this way sets up dual standards, as even in its trial passed on to Enver Sekiraqa and at the hearing for the measure of detention against suspects for the murder of Oliver Ivanovic the court had acted in the same way by allowing the presence of EULEX international monitors, while closing the session for local BIRN monitors.
Enver Sekiraqa on charges of inciting the murder of Triumf Rizes in 2016 had been sentenced to 27 years in prison.
The case was turned into retrial after the Court of Appeals found it supported by the defence complaint, Kosovar Kelmendi.
Enver Sekiraqa is accused of inciting the murder of former police officer Triumf Riza and for duty.
For the murder of police officer Riza, Arben Berisha has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after he was found guilty in the charge of having killed Triumf Riza in 2007 in Pristina's ão Santea” neighbourhood. /Cashho. com
